• Resolution, bagian penyelesaian konflik, bisa berupa solusi akhir yang bahagia, atau justru akhir yang menyedihkan.
• Re-orientation (bersifat opsional), bagian penutup yang berisi pesan moral, amanat, atau refleksi dari cerita.

Growing frustrated and desperate, Sangkuriang began to lose patience. In his anger, he made a terrible decision. He killed his own dog, Tumang, and took its liver home, pretending it was deer liver.

Complication:

At home, Dayang Sumbi prepared to cook the meat. But soon, she discovered the truth. The liver did not belong to a deer but to Tumang, her loyal companion. Dayang Sumbi knew she could not marry Sangkuriang, but she also could not directly reveal the truth. To delay the marriage, she gave Sangkuriang an impossible task. He had to build a great lake and a huge boat in just one night, before the sun rose.

Driven by love and determination, Sangkuriang used his supernatural powers. He summoned spirits and worked tirelessly. By midnight, the lake was almost finished, and the giant boat was nearly complete. Dayang Sumbi grew anxious, fearing that Sangkuriang would succeed.

In desperation, she prayed for divine help. Then, she spread pieces of silk cloth across the eastern horizon and created the illusion of dawn. Roosters began to crow, thinking morning had come. Seeing this, Sangkuriang thought he had failed.

Furious and heartbroken, he kicked the giant boat with all his strength. The unfinished boat toppled over, landing upside down, and magically turned into a mountain. To this day, that mountain is known as Tangkuban Perahu, which means “upturned boat,” located in Bandung, West Java.

Confident in his supernatural powers, Bandung Bondowoso agreed. With the help of his spirit soldiers and a powerful demon army, he began building the temples at lightning speed. By midnight, hundreds of temples had already stood tall, and before dawn, only one temple was left unfinished.

Seeing the temples nearly completed, Roro Jonggrang grew anxious. If Bandung Bondowoso succeeded, she would have no choice but to marry him. In desperation, she gathered the villagers and ordered them to pound rice, light torches, and create noises that resembled the coming of dawn.

Resolution:

The spirits, thinking the sun was about to rise, panicked and fled, leaving the last temple unfinished. Bandung Bondowoso realized that he had been tricked by Roro Jonggrang.
